When you hear the word 'coach' you may first think of a coach in sports. It is true that, historically, the term 'coach' has almost exclusively referred to the person that worked with individual athletes and teams to improve their performance. In the mid to late 70's the term 'executive coach' became associated with the individuals that worked with CEO's and other top executives to help them better leverage their strengths, overcome barriers, and navigate their way through changes.
